Музыкальный альбом.
Praga continues their Sviatoslav Richter edition with a new SACD reissue of key recordings from the great pianist's extensive catalog. This duo of "nationalist" concertos by Grieg and Dvorák featured only briefly in Richter's repertoire. The uncharacteristic liberty of his playing and the sense of exultation are astounding, illuminating these iconic romantic compositions and highlighting their folkloric connections. These historic recordings have been carefully remastered for the best sonic experience, and offer a rare glimpse into this artist's unique talents.
American Record Guide, November/December 2012
These recordings have been around before, not just on Praga but other labels too. It's difficult not to be impressed by the Grieg for its sheer pianistic skill alone, though Richter is a trifle hard-edged in spots. Mr Morin (Nov/Dec 1994) found it "as good a performance as you will ever hear", praising its warmth, grandeur, and brilliance. There are a few instances of soloist and orchestra getting out of step with each other, but Kondrashin's contribution is otherwise first-rate. The stereo sound is good enough, with somewhat more tape hiss than we're used to these days.
