This set featuring instrumental compositions from the Korean peninsula focuses on zither music of the Choi Ok-Sam School. The performers offer a selection of sango - improvisational compositions derived mostly from traditional pansori singing that form a structured instrumental suite. Accompanied by Yoon Ho-Se on the buk drum, Kim Hae-Sook plays the twelve-string gayageum zither with virtuosic serenity, painting a musical landscape of exaltation and restrained emotion.
